The Friends are a registered charity and work in close association with the Health Service Executive. The Friends rely on the support of the people of the region and are appreciative of the involvement of the HSE employees The Friends organise a generously supported Church Gate Collection at Christmas, which the public see as a way of supporting their local hospital.
The Friends are appreciative of the generous donations given by many individuals, groups and organisations in Tullamore, nationally and internationally which have supported them over the years. This makes it possible for the Friends to undertake patient centred Projects which include the provision of a Healing Garden adjacent to the Hospital Chapel. This provides a retreat for patients and their families and affords the opportunity of a quiet space where people can reflect.
The Friends have been privileged to be associated with the bi-annual Remembrance Service which has proved most beneficial to bereaved families.
The Committee would like to acknowledge the wonderful committment of its members who give generously of their time on a purely voluntary basis.
