What We Do
- The Friends is a registered charity and while we work in close association with hospital management and staff, we are a totally independent voluntary group.
- At our monthly meetings, we consider new ideas and requests received for equipment or projects to ensure that it will enhance our patient care. Any service or department can make a proposal to the Friends for a piece of equipment or other items that they feel would enhance the service that they provide to patients in their care.
- Some of these requests require ongoing funding, like the Special Care rooms for palliative care patients, while other ideas such as giving every patient's family a little crochet purple heart in their memory, require simply time and work. Everything we do is focused on improving patient comfort.
Thank you for the kind feedback we receive from our patients and families. We listen to every comment and we will continue to work to make our patients and their families as comfortable as possible.
How We Do It
- We couldn't do it without you. As every single cent the Friends receive is spent on improving patient care, fundraising is a continuous process. We are so appreciative of the support and generosity shown to the Friends not only from individuals, groups and organisations but also from donors from home and abroad. There is an ever increasing level of competition for charitable funds but our fundraising efforts remain well supported.
- A key fundraiser is our HSE Staff 300 Club Draw. HSE and Hospital staff contribute weekly to a monthly Draw. We acknowledge the support of staff in this regard as this donation is deducted from staff salaries. We also wish to promote new members to join.
- Draw Application forms are available from any member of the Committee or email friendsofmrht@gmail.com
